Uist Community Archaeology Group (UCAG) was established in February 2019 to advance the awareness and understanding of the archaeology of Uist. It evolved from the earlier Access Archaeology group which fulfilled a similar role for North Uist.
Members enjoy an extensive programme of talks throughout the year and have opportunities to participate in field trips, recording and survey work.
UCAG members also participate in archaeology projects instigated by commercial and academic archaeology groups and work closely with the County Archaeologist based in Stornoway and local archaeologists based at Lews Castle College, Benbecula.
