The following list details some local responses to COVID-19 that are taking place throughout the Uists and Benbecula. If you would like your organisation, business or community group to be listed and/or are aware of any other community responses and/or notice any errors in the details provided please do get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Facebook appears to be the best way to receive updated information regarding the various community response efforts taking place.

Alasdair Allan MSP- Providing information/updates relating to COVID-19 on Facebook page:
Caraidean Uibhist- All volunteers have switched to telephone befriending. Staff are ensuring contact and basic essentials for all existing service users (maximum daily, minimum weekly).
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Council Page: Coronavirus (COVID-19):
Grimsay Association- Assisting/covering vulnerable/high risk individuals.
Museum nan Eilean- Although the museum is closed they hope to start sharing online content about our collections and exhibitions on our facebook and twitter pages @MuseumnanEilean.
NHS COVID-19 Health Support Telephone Line: For those living and working within the Western Isles

- The line will be operational from 09.00am-5.30pm Monday-Friday.
Psychological Wellbeing Hub: NHS Western Isles in partnership with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar launched their new Psychological Wellbeing Hub service to help people of all ages across the Outer Hebrides manage their anxiety while coping with the coronavirus outbreak.
Outer Hebrides (COVID-19) Information Site- This website provides the most up-to-date information and links for those residing in the Outer Hebrides.
Resilient Uist Group (covering Eriskay, South Uist and Benbecula)- Here to help the Uist Community during the Covid-19 pandemic. Picking up and dropping off supplies and helping to keep you informed with the latest advice.
Taigh Sgire Sholais- Has set up a system for the area to help with anyone self isolating, please visit their Facebook page for more details.
Tagsa Uibhist- Assisting in the delivery of shopping and medication.
- Cuimhne Project- Collaborating with schools to get letters and drawings from children sent to service users. Arranging weekly newsletters with carer and service user involvement.
Uist & Barra Foodbank-The foodbank is open Monday (9am-12.30pm) and Friday (2pm-4pm) and located at East Camp, Balivanich, Benbecula, HS7 5LA.
