Following information taken directly from the Outer Hebrides (COVID-19) Information Site.

We understand this is a worrying time and you may have questions, need advice or are looking for ways to help within your local community.

This website provides the most up-to-date information and links, so you can always be assured that the information you are receiving is accurate, appropriate and credible.

The Community Support Hub and Helpline is led by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and offers community support for anyone in the Outer Hebrides who requires assistance whilst self-isolating or may be considered vulnerable or at high risk during COVID-19.

The Community Support Hub and Helpline works in unison with local community groups, church groups, support services and agencies, and volunteers. This enables their dedicated teams to offer a variety of practical support within each local area. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • shopping
  • collection/delivery of prescriptions
  • walking pets
  • telephoning those who may be feeling lonely or isolated.

For further information, or to take advantage of this support, members of the public are encouraged to contact or call the Council:

In the attached video Kirsty Street, Chair of the Care for People Group, explains a little about how the Comhairle has established a dedicated service to collect details of individuals throughout the Western Isles who are looking for support during Covid-19.
